Cruising Down the 101

We headed west and not long after turning on to highway 101 we were met with our first view of the Pacific!

It was a great feeling, having started our trek at the beach in Sandwich. 

101 through Oregon was a beautiful drive. We were surprised at the dramatic cliffs, the black sand, and the desolate beach towns along the route. 

We were so happy to finally see this sign:

We were headed to the Redwood National Forest which was not far over the California border. We ended up getting to our campsite after dark, but even at night the trees were incredible.
