The ride from Yosemite to Sequoia was long with so many twists and turns we were feeling carsick by the time we got there! We checked into a campground, quickly set up camp, and got back on the road to try to make it to the visitors center before they closed. The drive from our site in Potwisha to the lodgepole Visitors Center was insane. I've never driven a road with more hairpin turns.
On the drive up we saw two bears. One was digging in the grass right outside our car:
The other was tearing up a fallen tree on the side of a hill:
We made it to the visitors center, toured through the exhibits and picked up a few things to add to dinner. On our way back down the winding road we stopped to take a walk and see the giant sequoias. Including, the biggest tree on earth: the General Sherman.
The trees were huge. You couldnt get as close to them as the Redwoods and they were more spread apart, but they were incredible to see.
We got an incredible sunset and lots of chances to stop and enjoy the view on the way down from the forest.
