Towering Trees

It was amazing to wake up in the redwood forest. The trees made our car and tent look like toys:

We were up with the sun because we wanted to have plenty of time to explore the forest. We went on a short hike and marveled over the incredible size of the trees. 

It was impossible to capture the size in photographs, but we tried!

After our hike we headed to Crescent City to the visitors center and had a chance to go for a walk on the beach. We found some great treasures and we were having a great time until a tsunami siren sent us running for higher ground!!*

* upon further research we discovered that Crescent City tests their tsunami sirens at 10am on the first Tuesday following the first Sunday of each month. 

Continuing on down Highway 101 we of course at to make a few important stops:

At a Bigfoot Emporium 

At the One Log House

And at the drive through tree!

We cruised into Napa just before dinner time and the wine was waiting for us!
